An interview with the original creator of Holly Hobbie!
Classic Holly Hobbie began as a character design for greeting cards back in 1967, and is still warming hearts with her simple patchwork and country charm. Now, her great-granddaughter keeps up the family tradition with a fresh style all her own!
She’s bright, optimistic, super creative and, of course, all heart. The great-granddaughter of the original Holly, this Holly Hobbie is inspiring, artistic and always on the go. She embraces age ten fearlessly, is always well intentioned, but sometimes tends to overestimate her own abilities. When this happens, she ends up taking her two best friends on some pretty tricky adventures.
Thirteen-year old Alyson Stoner made the leap from small town girl in Toledo, Ohio to the bright lights of Hollywood. Like many aspiring actors, all Alyson wanted to do was to act. In just a few short years of being in Los Angeles, Alyson is getting her wish as her talents shine through. In addition to many other projects, Alyson has recently played the voice of Holly Hobbie in four Holly Hobbie and Friends DVDs: Surprise Party, Christmas Wishes, Secret Adventures and Best Friends Forever.
In addition to voice work, Alyson has been trained in hip-hop by well-known choreographers such as Wade Robson, Fatima and High Hat. So it came as no surprise when she auditioned and was cast to dance in the Missy Elliott videos Work It, I'm Really Hot and Gossip Folks along with Eminem's, Just Lose It. With the popularity of the videos, Alyson has been in demand by such media outlets as Extra, The Maury Povich Show, The Ellen DeGeneres Show, M Magazine and YM Magazine. She performed on The Jay Leno Show, The American Music Awards, MTV's Fashionably Loud and Seattle's Radio Concert with Missy Elliott and with Angie Stone at The NAACP Awards.
A talented actress at such a young age, Alyson is the co-host of the Disney Channel's Mike Super Short Show, in which the hosts act out short skits of upcoming movies. In addition to her regular hosting show, Alyson stars as 'Alice Mckinley' in the feature film, Alice. In addition, Alyson has also starred as Steve Martin and Bonnie Hunt's tomboy daughter in 20th Century Fox Cheaper by the Dozen, and Cheaper by the Dozen 2. Alyson has also had a recurring role on Disney's The Suite Life of Zack and Cody, guest-starred on ABC's I'm With Her, and Nickelodeon's Drake and Josh. She can also be seen in Disney’s Step Up.
